"where you lay down to sleep, perhaps there's some relief, and at least you're in a place of quite certainty"
listening this morning, I had a revelation about the context and importance of this album for me (more on that later) - this line so perfectly describes that

...i didn’t really connect with "mary v" from the album...or even the single...it wasn't until i saw it performed live. it was tinged with a raw-er emotion that translated itself (to me anyway) through a lens of anger, a power that was somewhat muted on the album(s)…what leaves me breathless is that throughout all of it permutations and versions, it is still able to be informed by a vulnerability that leaves me with such an ache...that goes to the core…

I hear victims voices with this song. I hear the pain for the people who've been damaged by the hand of another. Hushed screams.

For sure, it's amazing how everything fits, and makes you feel warm and the bass line it's so melancholy and beatiful!

Yes, Dopplor. I have drank this into my soul. Through tears and sweat I took each drop in.

blackwing:
broken soul. rushing towards the waves. feeling unsafe. trying to find safety. being bowled over by emotion. swept off your feet as the violence of the water takes you down. drowning, grasping, clutching. save me.
