Review thread - Recordings by the band

Has anyone else listened to recordings from the members of the band? I decided to see what they were bringing to the table individually and so far have received a couple of things and am waiting on more.

Ryan Waters - I ordered his first CD (self titled) and it's a hard rock album all the way. 15 or 20 years ago I would have really dug this but now, not so much. I think it good if a bit derivative, it's just not my cup of tea anymore. That said, I'm really liking the samples of his new work and will order his next CD. He's got mad talent. If anyone wants a listen, pm me and I'll pass the CD on. (side note - CDBaby makes me smile every time I order from them!)

Sonus Quartet - I liked their Myspace samples. I also found this - www.hiphoporchestra.com/
A couple of the members play in it and I'm liking what I hear. I bought "Unfinished Symphony Remixed" from iTunes and plan to purchase more...for some reason Apple only has disc 2 of the 2 disc set. They're a Kufala artist - www.kufala.com/artists/artistBio.php?sel=18 My best description is Hip Hop with some swing (as in big band). It's not a genre I've listened to a whole lot and to find something I like is really exciting.

I haven't listened to any music of the other members of the band, but I'm planning to at least check their websites/my space sites, to see what kind of music they have on there...

I've listened to bits & pieces.

I've put anyone I could find in the band on my friendlist....want to be supportive of the band.

I'd like to buy a few things..just have to get the time to figure out which things to get

Part 2 - things I won't be listening too...............

Leopold Ross - Error. Don't like it now, never did like it in the past, can't ever see my self liking it in the future.

Ilse Baca aka Nascar Madagascar - listened to the clips on myspace . That plus reading the lyrics on the band's website just isn't doing it for me.

Since I'm twisted, this makes me want to see them live even more. The music they produce is sooo different from nearLY that it will be really, really interesting to see how they interpret it.

Claudia - what's to say that hasn't already been said somewhere else. I did purchase 12 rounds "My Big Hero" and although it's not something I'll listen to all the time I do like it.

Edit 4/17 - ok, I've been listening to this more and more and I gotta say I really like it. I'd like to hear more from them.

i'm finding myself really drawn to Ryan Water's music. I like his style. I have a wide range of different music I enjoy and his stuff fits a certain corner of my taste quite well.

I'm going to be purchasing his album (as soon as I feel is okay to spend money again as the LA prep is adding up!).

Got Ryan Water's cd over the weekend (oops on calling him Ryan White above..I will go correct).

If you like bluesy rock..buy this..it's awesome.

I had it in on the way in to work this morning..he put a smile on my face.

I'm lame (or old schoo)..I don't have an ipod...that's the best way to bring music I realize. Trust me..order it when it's back in stock..sexy music...when I listened to it..it made me wanna commit sin!

i just got my copy last night. the folks at CD Baby RULE! and they're super nice!

the album is INCREDIBLE!!!!

i really liked the songs on Ryan Waters's myspace profile....and the rest of the album is just as, if not more, brilliant. it's got a real cool and sexy groove.

I love the whole thing..but those I have been really gravitating toward.

This is the kind of music I want to listen to when I'm in a good mood, and get to relax..or need to relax, preferable with a nice beverage in my hand...definitely going to enjoy this hanging on my deck this summer relaxing in the warm air!

I wish it were here now. I could use some good jammin' music. It's been a day I tell you. Oh do I have a story to tell but it's NOT appropriate for public consumption.

Overnight delivery to work but then it'll take at least a day for our stupid, lazy-azzed mailroom to get it to me.
