your definately right about the perfect circle cover cd, i just got done listening to it, and it was ok at best, there are some good songs but this CD is very over shadowed by mar de noms and 13th step. None the less I still wanted to get it because i love their band and Maynard's voice is amazing. I have one question though about the song "passive" the booklet says that it written buy trent reznor , does anyone know what NIN album this song is from. I have almost all of their albums ,except for that damn halo 15, but don't remember if this song is on any of them.
and as for the autolux cd, im really feeling this one. I feel that this genre or type of garage band /indie style of music is really getting diluted. I swear i cant tell which band is which any more, they all start to sound the same to me after a while( DFA, white stripes, strokes, interpol, arcade fire, etc ...you know i could go on), but for some reason auto lux stands out to me , they got a great sound and am looking forward to more releases.i like them and interpol the most( just "turn on the bright lights" thou , i didnt like antics

I have one question though about the song "passive" the booklet says that it written buy trent reznor , does anyone know what NIN album this song is from. I have almost all of their albums ,except for that damn halo 15, but don't remember if this song is on any of them. Trent and Maynard were working together on a project called Tapeworm. There were some other artists involved in that project as well, like Josh Freese and Zach de la Rocha amongst others...anyway...they never released an album or any tracks. It is said that none of the members were satisfied with the results and they didn't have time to put more effort in it. Others say this project dissolved because APC played Passive (back then it had a different title...Vacant I believe) once at a live show and Trent was mad or something (I have to say I don't really believe the last explanation). Passive is the only song that survived and found its way onto this album. I do believe the original was a bit better... And Autolux is really great. They sound different...in a good way I really love Failure, so anytime one of the ex-members of that band put out something, I have to check it out...and this was definately worth checking out!

Welcome Dave - I'm a little behind on my greeting here.
As everyone is said, dark and loud is an absolute requirement for listening to this. At least the first time. Then you can branch out from there. Wine is a good accompaniment but I can't comment on the other suggestions. If you like the album, stick around for the next listening party, it's an amazing way to hear the music.

hello.. just wanted to say hello and welcome davemuzik to the wonderful world of 'nearLY'.. i think i'm not alone when i say that NIN is the reason why most of us first came here.. dave, you will be more than impressed with 'nearLY'.. i don't know of anyone yet who's heard it and not liked it.. and as you've no doubt already gathered, we all totally love it.. if you just thought Jerome was an amazing drummer, wait till you hear what else he can do..
- audrey, x

I guess I’ll chime in as I recently joined the board because I’m very impressed with the ‘reminder’ album. I didn’t know about it till I read the mtv.com article, and to be honest, I really miss Jerome at the drums with NIN. I picked up the ‘reminder’ album at a local indie CD store about a week ago and I was surprised how much I liked it. I’ve been listening to it A LOT. Bravo Jerome and the rest of the band. Great work on this record! I just ordered the maxi-single, so I’m looking forward to that. I wish I had the money right now to fly to CA to see the shows. I hope they come a little closer to home soon.

Welcome to the board, volitiel! I'm really glad that you liked reminder. I still miss Jerome's drumming in NIN, too. But I am also very happy that we finally got to know him fully as an artist. The both CDs (album and maxi single) haven't left my CD player since their arrival.
