Humor me...I am bored at work
So Mr. JD has told us to listen to the album in the dark, really loud and some other people have been coming up with other great suggestions where and how to listen to it. For me the other day when it was snowing here in NYC, the quiet that comes with snow, the beauty of snowing plus the album...breathe taking.
However, there have been times I have had the ipod on, bouncing around listening to nearLY, probably when I shouldn't have been. So I thought it would be funny for people to post a funny moment when they were listening to the album and what they experienced.
For Example: The other day at Grand Central Station at rush hour, Subway sound+nearLY+ break dance troupe music= Not a good combo
or Mariachi band playing on the #7 train while nearLY was in the ipod

For us> nearLY & train journeys have a great atmosphere....try travelling early morning, or late evening when theres a dusky twilight , you know.. whilst the street light are on, but only just....beautiful or as we do in uni, listen to nearLY in the depths of the basement studios or redish glow of the darkroom... xx

I love having baths, and I think someone already brought up nearLY in the bathtub...but it's great. It is the most peaceful atmosphere...with my ears underwater it had a really cool effect. Walking places, on the bus, during school, road trips, in my room...nearLY is everywhere with me. The most powerful feeling for me though, is what Jerome recommended us to do: listening in the dark. The headphones have more of a dramatic, closer feel...but sometimes as a change on my stereo is really great too. I just love nearLY...it has been so perfect in every way!!

The worse place for me to listen to nearLY is stuck in traffic, gym, and work.
The best place for me to listen is in the shower, road trips in the dark, and under my covers.

.. i don't recommend listening to nearLY on your stereo while you are also surfing around on myspace.com.. i guess it depends, but i was checking out some other profiles, and most of them had a nearLY song added as their tune.. the continous overlapping of all the nearLY songs playing at the same/different time got a bit much in the end, lol..
.. i do recommend listening to nearLY as you fall asleep though..

Thats funny. Yeah I love listening to nearLY in my darkroom...I feel like the album was MADE for darkroom work, its utterly perfect in there. and I too love listening to it early in the morning on my walk to the subway. but I was thinking of where not to listen, like: In the dentist chair, with a bright florescent light, getting your teeth cleaned

.. i do recommend listening to nearLY as you fall asleep though.. - audrey:) Oh totally. Or, before you go to sleep, maybe it's the same idea..hehe. The last time I did that..I had a pretty nice dream, or..funny dream, involving Jerome.. ! nearLY's also great to listen to when doing something artsy...for me, sketching in my sketchbook. I haven't listened to it while driving. I don't think I'd want to since I'd have to concentrate on the road...lol. But maybe in the car/train as long as I'm not behind the wheel.

okay, I usually enjoy nearLY driving on a dark road at night..though many have warned against it..maybe they ARE right...as when I did this Sat. night..I drove past my turn!!! The music does have a way of grabbing your attention...might be dangerous!

i've been listening to it on the train by mistake today... it's definitely not the best place to enjoy it... i like it best when i'm alone, in the dark, nestled in a cuddly blanket... and i still get goose bumps, even after listening to it so many times...

I generally try not to listen to it while driving UNLESS it's either really early or really late. Kinda like Becky, something about the dark, empty road ...

I love to listen to it when I'm outside at night, making dinner (with the lights all dimmed) or when I'm on my laptop at night.
